There are many factors that go into deciding where to refer your patients for care: The credentials of the institution, its physicians and its staff. The range of services within its specialty areas. The reputation of the institution within the medical community and among its patients, from the level of service to the convenience of care. And the degree of collaboration and communication that ensures the highest level of care for the patients in your care.

The physicians and staff at the VCU Baird Vascular Institute are proud to be an integral part of the community of medical professionals in the Central Virginia area, and honored to partner with so many of our colleagues in providing discipline-leading vascular diagnosis and care to your patients.

The VCU Baird Vascular Institute provides comprehensive vascular services to patients in a single, convenient facility. Through our association with VCU Health Medical Center, Virginia’s top-ranked hospital, and with access to their full array of services to ensure a continuum of care up to the most complex of cases, the VCU Baird Vascular Institute is the only academically based vascular center in Central Virginia. We have assembled a unique team of interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons and equipped our institute with the optimum technology to continually advance our high standards of care.

Advanced specialized services with utmost patient convenience.

With your referral, we offer your patients the benefits of traditional exams and access to advanced imaging technology so we can diagnose their problems efficiently and accurately. With your input, we then develop individualized treatment plans. We are experienced with a wide range of advanced, minimally-invasive treatment opens, many made possible by our teaming of interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons.

Comprehensive services

The Institute provides the latest diagnostic and treatment options for a wide array of vascular diseases and conditions. In addition to treating peripheral vascular/arterial disease, our expert clinical staff also:

  • Manage dialysis fistula access and maintenance
  • Install long-term IV ports and catheters
  • Perform cosmetic services to treat varicose and spider veins
  • Provide outpatient workups and follow-ups for a range of procedures performed in the hospital, including procedures for ovarian fibroids and spinal compression fractures, as well as other procedures in which high-end imaging expertise and patient convenience are valuable

Using image-guided techniques, our interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons are able to diagnose and treat almost any vascular condition not related to the heart or brain.

Convenient Outpatient Care for Your Patients

As more and more vascular conditions can be treated with minimally invasive outpatient procedures, your patients get the best of both worlds: teaching hospital expertise with the convenience of having all outpatient services in one easily accessible facility. We build flexibility into our schedules so that your patients can get appointments quickly, usually within a week.

Located in the near West End of Richmond, directly off Interstate 195 at 205 N. Hamilton Street, the VCU Baird Vascular Institute is easily accessed from throughout the Central Virginia region. With free parking and a warm and friendly environment, we strive to provide your patients with visits that are as pleasant and professional as possible. Patients no longer need to travel to downtown Richmond to have access to Central Virginia’s academically based vascular services.
