Ways to Give

From honoring an individual caregiver to endowing future research in a medical field that has touched your life, everyone has a deeply personal reason for giving. That’s why VCU Health offers you so many ways to direct your gift. We want you to design your giving in the way that is most meaningful to you. Your priority is our priority, and we know how to make the most of every gift.

Annual Gifts 

Annual gifts are contributions for the current use of the Health System or any of our programs. Your donation can be restricted to specific areas or left undesignated, which allows us to meet unexpected needs. Annual gifts may be made online or by mailing your gift to:

Planned gifts include bequests, charitable remainder trusts, real estate, life insurance and more. VCU Health System can provide information

Stock Gifts

Gifts of stocks and mutual funds are coordinated by our financial partners at the MCV Foundation and can be directed to any program or area of your choice. Before making a transfer, please contact the VCU Health System Office of Development at (804) 828-4100.

Endowments

Endowed gifts are long-term investments aimed at securing the success of the Health System for years to come. They support faculty, research and other key programs within the medical center.

Memorial Gifts Honoring Loved Ones

If you have recently suffered the loss of a loved one and would like to ask family and friends to make a memorial donation to VCU School of Medicine, VCU Health or one of its patient care units, our staff will personally assist you.

To assure that gifts will be properly directed to the fund of your choice, please include the following language in any printed announcement or obituary. If you need assistance with determining the name of a specific fund, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff at the number below.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MCV Foundation in support of [CENTER OR FUND], noting on the check's memo line that the gift is in memory of [LOVED ONE’S NAME], and mailed to VCU Gifts & Records, Box 843042, Richmond, VA 23284-3042. Online gifts may be made by visiting support.vcu.edu/give/medicine or support.vcu.edu/give/vcuhealth.

Each person who remembers your loved one with a gift will receive a note of thanks for their generosity and a gift receipt from our office. It will be our pleasure to share the names and contact information of those who give with your designated family representative, so that you may thank donors personally if you wish. We will include a total of what has been raised in memoriam in each report. If you have chosen to direct memorial contributions to VCU School of Medicine or VCU Health in memory of your loved one, please complete our short contact form so we know how to inform you about gifts received.
