History
Founded in 1954, VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a nonprofit health care facility operated by a voluntary, elected Board of Directors. Planned and built by the people of Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties, CMH offers a full range of medical, surgical, and long term care services for residents of Southside Virginia and Northern North Carolina.
Now, VCU and CMH are working together for the health of our community.
On July 1, 2014, CMH ushered in a new day in health care with our affiliation with VCU Health System. Through this alliance, the new VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital offers access to more physicians, specialties, and services. The communities we serve also benefits from the latest technology, medical innovations, research and education. Now VCU and CMH are working together for the health of our community. It's all close to home and still delivered with warmth and compassion by your friends and neighbors.
